Nasarawa State Government Palliative for Students
Nasarawa State Government under the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule claimed it has commenced the distribution of two units of 7.5kg bags of rice to all its students ranging from public secondary schools to higher institutions in the state.

The state government also claimed that it gives each of the beneficiary students in the state a sum of N5,000 to lessen the impacts of the economic crisis rocking the country in the state.

However, some students of the higher institutions in the state disagreed with the state government.

A student revealed to The Round Table that the program is not covering all the students as claimed by the Nasarawa State Government. He disclosed that the government officials only give the palliative to a select list of students in the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Another student who was among those who received palliative disagreed with the government's claim that it gave each student 15kg bags of rice (two units of 7.5kg bag of rice) as he insisted they only took pictures with the two units bags of rice, only a 7.5kg bag of rice was given to each of the selected students.

A source within the state also revealed to The Round Table that none of the students who were given a 7.5kg bag of rice was also given N5,000 as claimed by the state government.

The majority of the students who spoke with The Round Table testified they collected a 7.5kg bag of rice with no money added to it, although they agreed the state government aimed it was two units of 7.5kg bags of rice with N5,000.

While commending the gesture displayed by the Nasarawa State Government, some students who have not benefited from the palliative programme called on Governor Sule to let the palliative go round while private school owners who are registered with the state government also appeal to the state government to include them in the palliative distribution.
