The National leadership of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced activities to probe members of the party who worked against candidates of the party in the last elections.
The decision to probe the suggested members of the party who did anti-party during the last elections was to entrench sanity within the party.
The commencement of activities to probe members of APC who worked against the interests of the party in the July 16th Governorship election in Osun State and the 2023 General election was revealed to the News Direct by an authority at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.
Among members of the party that have been listed to be probed are the former Osun State Governor and the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, among other party members who openly worked against the candidates of the part in the last election season.
It could be recalled that Rauf Aregbesola was seen on many viral videos vowing to ensure APC, and Adegboyega Oyetola who was the governorship candidate of the party, lose the July 16th, 2022 governorship election in Osun State. He was also being accused of working against the interest of the party at the February 25th Presidential election and March 18th States House of Assembly election in the state.
Likewise, Ogun State former governor Ibikunle Amosun openly supported the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Biyi Otegbeye against the incumbent governor and the candidate of APC, Prince Dapo Abiodun, during the Ogun election.
The source added that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has also given the directive to all the state executives across the country to compile names of the party members who were perceived to have committed anti-party during the July 16th, 2022 governorship election in Osun State and 2023 General election.
