Osun State University, Osogbo, has released a circular outlining the conduct of the 2024/2025 academic session's summer semester. The circular, dated August 12, 2025, details the key dates, eligibility criteria, and associated fees for students.
The summer semester will run for a period of six weeks, from Monday, September 22, to Friday, October 31, 2025. The schedule is as follows:
Expression of Interest/Opening of Portal and Commencement of Online Registration: Monday, September 8, to Friday, September 19, 2025.
Commencement of Lectures/Tutorials: Monday, September 22, 2025.
End of Online Registration: Sunday, October 5, 2025.
End of Lectures/Tutorials: Friday, October 17, 2025.
Summer Semester Examination: Monday, October 20, to Friday, October 31, 2025.
The circular specifies the following criteria for students to be eligible for the summer semester:
Students can only register for a maximum of 15 units.
Students can only register for courses that they had earlier attempted but failed.
Final-year students can register for fresh courses not previously registered if they are required for graduation.
Students who had registered for courses but were unable to write the examination due to illness or other justifiable reasons can register to take the courses. Approval must be sought from the Chairman, Summer Semester Committee.
Courses involving Practical, Field Trips, SIWES, or Research Projects cannot be registered for during the Summer Semester.
Fees Charged
Students are required to pay the following fees:
Administrative Fee: Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00), irrespective of the number of courses.
Course Registration Fee: Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00) per course.
The circular signed by the school Registrar, Mr. Oguntunde Alimuke A. notes that if the course registration fee for a course is more than the tuition component of the school fees, the student will pay the exact amount of the tuition fee.
