NASCAR driver Connor Zilisch sustained a broken collarbone after a fall in Victory Lane following his Xfinity Series victory at Watkins Glen International. The 19-year-old was celebrating his sixth win of the season by climbing onto the roof of his No. 88 Chevrolet when he slipped, apparently after his left foot got caught in the driver's side window netting. He tumbled awkwardly onto the asphalt.

Zilisch was taken on a backboard to the trackside medical center and then transported to a hospital for further evaluation. He later posted on social media that he had been released from the hospital, and that CT scans showed no head injury, but he did have a broken collarbone. He thanked the medical personnel for their quick attention.

As a result of the injury, Trackhouse Racing withdrew the No. 87 Chevrolet that Zilisch had been scheduled to drive in the Cup race. Zilisch's next scheduled Xfinity start is on August 22 at Daytona International Speedway.

This incident marks the second time this season Zilisch has been injured; he also missed a race earlier in the year at Texas Motor Speedway after sustaining a back injury in a crash at Talladega Superspeedway.
