Again, Fubara Sends Letter To Rivers Assembly, Suggests New Date for Budget Re-presentation The governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara on Thursday, March 13, wrote to the State House of Assembly, indicating his plan to represent the 2025 budget on Wednesday, March 19.
In his letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, the governor disclosed he would be ready to re-present the 2025 appropriation charge on the said date or some other date, within March, that suits the lawmakers.
According to Fubara, his decision to write to the House is in line with the Supreme Court’s judgment and the lawmakers’ request for the re-presentation of the state’s budget.
“You may recall my failed visit to the Rivers State House of Assembly on Wednesday, 12th March 2025, for the presentation of the 2025 Rivers State Budget in compliance with the judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
“As you know, the planned presentation of the said budget could not take place because my entourage and I were locked out at the gate and dismissed entry into the premises despite the prior delivery of a soft copy of the notice to you following the failure of the Clerk to accept the hard copy from us,” he said.

Continuing, Fubara revealed that isolated of the depth of the warring parties’ dissimilarities , there is a need for the priorities of Rivers people to take precedence.
“Against this background, it is my pleasure to again caution you, Mr. Speaker, of my desire and intention to present the 2025 Budget to the Rivers State House of Assembly on Wednesday, 19th March 2025, by 11.00 a.m. or some other date within March 2025 that you may consider convenient.
“Thank you for the kind consideration of my request by the House, and please accept, Mr. Speaker, the assurance of my highest regards,” Fubara added.
