UNIPORT Student found dead A 200L female student of the Accounting Department, University of Port-Harcourt has been found dead in her Hostel Room at Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The sad news is coming from the University of Port-Harcourt, barely, three weeks after a student of the Biochemistry Department in the school, Justina Otuene, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Damian at the guy's residence along NTA Road, Ozuoba in Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers State.
The deceased female student who was simply identified as Adaeze is said to be residing at Aluu, a community very close to the main campus of the University of Port-Harcourt in Rivers State.
According to the Dean of Students Affairs, University of Port-Harcourt, Prof. Chima Wokocha, the lifeless body of the deceased student was found in her hostel room by her neighbors who brought the lifeless body to a health facility within the school campus.
The deceased was alleged to have taken a strange substance which might have been a poison, but no suicide note was found beside her. No one could tell if she was poisoned or poisoned herself, and the reason for such has not been affirmed. The school management has notified her parents, and they are making plans to collect her corpse from the school health facility.
Prof. Wokocha said “Her body was brought to the Chief Lulu-Briggs Health Centre by people who live around her in her lodge.
“She didn’t die in the University hostel. She died in her off-campus residence in Aluu and the scene of the crime was visited by the management of the university, including my humble self.”
“The police were there with us also. We acknowledge the fact that she had taken a substance and passed out because there was a bottle of a substance that was found by her side.
“The parents have come there and I think they are making arrangements to take the body.”
