Chief Emmanuel Ahaejiejemba Iwuanyanwu Imo State-born Nigerian businessman and politician, Chief Emmanuel Ahaejiejemba Iwuanyanwu who doubles as one of the leaders of the Igbo socio-cultural group in Nigeria has made a disturbing comment about the Yoruba socio-cultural group in Nigeria.
Speaking at a year anniversary of the inauguration of the administration of Governor Charles Soludo in Anambra State, Chief Emmanuel Ahaejiejemba Iwuanyanwu said "Yorubas are political rascals and we are going to handle them.
He also spoke about reports that the Igbo people are being threatened to leave Lagos, a prominent Yoruba city that serves as the economic headquarters for the West African countries.
Recall that in recent times, Igbo people in Lagos have been having issues with the indigenous Yorubas with the Igbo claiming that Lagos belongs to no one. The claim became tense during the last general election with the governorship election in the state being decided on an ethnic card.
Backing the disturbing claim, according to a trending video clip, Chief Emmanuel Ahaejiejemba Iwuanyanwu was heard saying that "to those telling Igbo people to leave Lagos, the Igbo people should tell them that Igbo people are not going anywhere."
He disclosed that the Igbo leaders have summoned Igbo leaders in Lagos to a meeting on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023 where the ways out to defend Igbo people in Lagos would be ironed out.
Chief Emmanuel Ahaejiejemba Iwuanyanwu threatened that part of their resolution at the meeting would be to ensure that anywhere Igbo people are killed, the Igbo would fight back.
One of the leaders of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was in his seat at the event.
The comment made by Chief Emmanuel Ahaejiejemba Iwuanyanwu has generated a lot of fits of anger on social media spaces with a few Igbo joining in the condemnation of the provoking comment while many try to defend the remark.
