EFCC Officials launching Zero Tolerance Club for crimes
The Vice Chancellor of Wellspring University, Benin City, Professor Isaac R. Ajayi has commended the initiative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to inaugurate Zero Tolerance Club in tertiary institutions in the country.

The Vice Chancellor stated this on Tuesday, May 16, during the inauguration of the Zero Tolerance Club, at Wellspring University.

According to him, aside the vision and mission of the ZTC being in tandem with the values of the university, the Club will go a long way in directing the minds of students to embrace hard work and integrity.

At the launch of the Club, the EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa reiterated the need for committed action against corruption due to it devastating consequences on our nation. He charged Nigerian students to shun corruption and economic and financial crimes. "Let me state clearly that yahoo yahoo is an abominable crime."

The EFCC boss who was represented by ACE II Williams Oseghale, Head, Public Affairs, Benin Command urged the students to channel their creative energies into useful and productive engagement. The ZTC is aimed at providing a platform for contribution and involvement of students and youth in the fight against corruption, promote a culture of patriotism, honesty, accountability, morality and responsibility among students; and reduce exposure to corruption in the school community Chika Uneke, an operative of the Commission enjoined the students to uphold the values of the Club and avoid peer pressure.

The Ag.Dean of Students Affairs and Patron of the Club, Dr. Neba Polycarp thanked the Commission for establishing the Club which he says will be beneficial to the students as they will follow processes and procedures and condition their minds to appreciate hard work and good values.

The president of the newly inaugurated Club, Popo Nancy commended the Commission for the opportunity. "It is a call to help others to be of high integrity aimed at having a better country. It is to raise a generation that are accountable and transparent."
