Chidozie Michael A Man identified as Mr. Chidozie Michael has been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly beating his wife, Ufuoma Michael, to death in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
Michael who was said to be a Pastor at the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel in Port-Harcourt was accused of being a serial beater of his wife.
A church member of Michael, however, confided in the Round Table that Michael is not a member of the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) as widely reported by some people.
The source claimed that Michael is not also a Pastor at the Winners but a Sunday School Teacher of the kids.
Speaking further, the source revealed to the Round Table that the killer-husband, Michael, is not a regular member of the Church.
The deceased wife, Ufuoma, is a mother of three boys, who were aged 10, 7, and 5 respectively, and was pronounced dead by medical experts at a private hospital on Tuesday where she was rushed by her brother.
Ebi Layo, a very close friend to the late Ufuoma, speaking on the death of her 32-year-old friend, alleged that Ufuoma who hailed from Delta State, was often beaten by her husband over sundry arguments.
She explained further that anytime the man wanted to carry out his onslaught against his wife, he would lock the room and beat her to his satisfaction before he would let go.
According to her, the routine beating started again late yesterday night. But this time around, the wife did not come out as usual or respond to the calling of the children. The husband later came out to order the children to go to bed.
“It was in the morning of March 5th, 2024 that the husband called the brother of the deceased, telling him that there was an emergency. When the brother rushed down to his house, he met the lifeless body of Mrs. Ufuoma but did not meet the husband at home.
“The body of the late Ufuoma has since been deposited in the morgue as the husband is still at large. The children are also in police custody pending when family members will come to claim them”.
