The Round Table recently reported a story with the claim that a man who built the mosque, 30 years ago, has decided to take over the mosque and turn it to private shops with the intention to lent it and use the rent to buy food items.
Early report claimed that on Monday, February 19, the frustrated man was said to have informed the Muslim Faithful who observed their daily prayers in the mosque about his readiness to take over the mosque building and convert it into shops. He allegedly, thereafter, locked up the mosque and went home with the keys.
The story which was widely reported on social media platforms has been found to be false, according to the latest report generated by a correspondent of the Round Table, Jabiru Hassan.
Jabiru discovered that the said mosque is located in Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State; it was truly built about 30 years ago and the mosque committee had just decided to renovate and upgrade the structure of the mosque.
The story earlier reported about the mosque was among many stories aimed at fueling the speculations about Nigeria's economy and its impacts on the citizens.
