According to a data that is recently released by Berlitz as computed by the Genuine Impact Team, two factors including native speakers and non-native speakers were considered to determine the most spoken languages in the world.
Accurately, there are over 7,000 spoken languages across the world but the rate at which each of the languages are being spoken varies for various reasons.
Among the prominent factors that determine the number of people speaking a particular language include population of the indigenous speakers, migration and colonialism. For these reasons, among others, some languages are more spoken a lot than others.
Most expectedly, English is the most spoken language among the over 7,000 spoken languages across the world.

Mandarin is the second most spoken language across the world. About 929 million natives speak Mandarin while 189 non-natives speak the language. A sum total of 1.12 billion people speak Mandarin as a language across the world.
As many as 120.7 million people speak Nigerian Pidgin, an English-based creole language, but only 4.7 million of them are native speakers. Nigerian Pidgin is the 14th most spoken language across the globe.
