Joe Ajaero The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also feeling the hardship brought about by the removal of oil subsidy by his administration.
This was revealed in a news reported by Arise Television, days after the Labour Leaders led by Comrade Joe Ajaero met with President Tinubu t ok discuss the hardship brought about by oil subsidy removal, and consideration of the Labour Unions to embark of nationwide protests in calls for renumeration from the Federal Government of Nigeria.
At the meeting, Comrade Ajaero revealed that to cut cost of governance, President Tinubu had refused to reside at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock because of the exorbitant rate of maintenance of the villa. He said President Tinubu now resides at a two bedroom apartment in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Arose TV reported that "the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero has revealed details of his recent private meeting with President Bola Tinubu as nationwide protests broke out over the rising cost of living. As part of his deliberate policy to reduce the cost of governance, Ajaero stated that the President informed labour leaders that the administration has reduced the presidential fleet, and the President has opted to live in a two bedroom apartment rather than in the villa.
