Bola Ahmed Tinubu Amidst the frustrated global economy and deficit budget in Nigeria, some state governors have been caught spending billions of public funds on personal affairs.
Unfortunately, this development is coming from state governors who promised to cut costs, with some of them, during electioneering campaigns, even promising to use their resources to fund their means if elected.
Our searchlights captured a sitting three sitting governors who were elected on the platforms of three different political parties, spending billions of naira on personal courses. The political parties of the governors are the All Progressives Congress (APC), People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party.
Governor Ademola Adeleke Budgets N10 billion for General Service
After spending the N6 billion inherited from the budget prepared by the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke got from the State House of Assembly, approval of a fresh N10 billion supplementary budget meant for the maintenance of the Governor's office and Government House over November and December pending the approval of the N273.9 billion 2024 budget he has sent to the State House of Assembly.
Ademola Adeleke during his electioneering campaign promised to cut the cost of governance in the state, and even at a point vowed to use personal resources to fund the state with their family's affluence.

Governor Alia to spend N2 Billion on Cars
Benue State is one of the poorest states in Nigeria, and it is a state that has been bewildered with crises emanating from banditry, and communal crises. The state was classified as one of the unluckiest states in Nigeria during the governorship election. This gave many electorates hope in the aspiration of Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia, a man of God and governorship candidate with no political background.

Amazingly, the only Governor elected under the platform of the Labour Party in Nigeria, Alex Otti, is one of the governors who is expected to be exceptional. Unfortunately, he is also in the news for the same reason the people of Abia State rejected the PDP and decided to go with him.
It is in the news that Abia State Governor Alex Otti has spent N927 million On meals, and welfare packages in three months. This was confirmed in the Abia State Budget which was approved by the House of Assembly.
