Task Force Arrest 53 Over Thuggery, Drug Abuse In Kano The Kano State Joint Task Force Committee on Peace Restoration and Youth Rehabilitation has arrested 53 suspected thugs and drug dealers in the series of regulated operations aimed at curbing criminal activities in the state.

The crackdown, which took place between March 13 and 14, targeted criminal hideouts and black spots in Yakasai, Kofar Mata, Zango, Zage, Zanzado, Rimi Market, Shahuchi Park, Kano Line, Sharada, Ja’en, and Dan Agundi areas of the State capital.
According to a statement issued by the committee’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the intelligence-led operations led to the seizure of enormous sizes of illicit drugs and weapons.
Recovered items contained three parcels and 50 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa, two bottles of codeine syrup, two tubes of rubber solution, a gallon of “suck and die,” and 105 pieces of suspected exol tablets. The security operatives likewise confiscated five cutlasses, two pairs of scissors, two wooden clubs, and a best part of suspected captivates.
The statement further revealed that a major raid at the notorious drug joint in Zanzado led to the recovery of a corporeal magnitude of cannabis sativa. Additionally, a delivery vehicle and five cattle believed to belong to a known drug dealer were seized at the location.
“All the suspects arrested will be billed to court upon completion of the investigation,” the statement subjoined.
