Rivers State Government Palliative Bus Transport System Rivers State government is set to flag off the disbursement of the public transit system, aiming at minimizing transportation problems in the state, following the removal of oil subsidy by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
This was contained in a press release signed by the Commissioner for Transportation in the state, Dr. Jacobson Nbina. He stated that the action taken by the state government was in tandem with the promise made by Governor Siminalayi Fubara to cushion the transportation challenges posed by the removal of oil subsidies to the state residents.
Dr. Nbina, therefore called on the civil servants in the state and the general public to join the administration of Governor Fubara by 11 am on Tuesday, July 11 at Rivers Transport Company (RTC) Yard, Waterlines, Port Harcourt, Rivers State where the public mass transit system will be commissioned for public access.
He said "Following the promise of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal, the Rivers State Ministry of Transport heartily invites members of the Organised Labour and the general public to the official flag off of the Rivers State Government Palliative Bus Transport System by His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State:
