Iyabo Ojo tax deficit Lagos State Government has given Actress Iyabo Ojo a 7-day-ultimatum to pay the total sum of N18,640,092.00 she reportedly owes to the State's treasury in personal income tax.
Personal Income Tax is a direct tax charged on the income of a person. In this context, a person means Individuals, Corporate sole or body of individuals, Communities, Families, and Trustees or Executors of any settlement.
According to a flying document, Iyabo Ojo was said to have a tax liability of N7,376,000.00 for the year 2022 and an outstanding liability of N11,264,092 for the 2021 income year.
The amount of money and the time given for Iyabo Ojo to remit her tax to the state has however generated mixed reactions from concerned citizens, online.
While some citizens condemn Iyabo Ojo for inflicting hardship on herself due to an alleged 'Fake life', many of the citizens in support tagged the tax demand as a 'political witch-hunt'.

They perhaps overlook this tax, but many business owners don't pay it. So unfortunate for Iyabo government opens a book of remembrance towards her today😁🤣. Why do they do it? I don't know and I really don't care. If truly she is owing, she should pay as a responsible citizen benefiting from the infrastructure of Lagos state.
Many citizens who blamed Iyabo Ojo for her fake life insisted that if she could afford to wear a 35 million naira dress during the African Magic Viewers Awards 2023, a tax clearance of N18.6 million should not be much for her.
However, against the objections that Iyabo Ojo's tax clearance was a political witch-hunting, it could be recalled that in 2019 she also cried out when the Lagos State government called on her to clear her N36 million tax deficit.
