Hyacinth Alia President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the dualization of the Makurdi-Otukpo-9th Mile (Enugu) road. The dualisation project was flagged off by the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, yesterday Thursday, January 25th, 2024.
The dualization and reconstruction of the 266.4km Makurdi-Otukpo-9th Mile (Enugu) road are being funded by the partnership between the federal government of Nigeria and the Export-Import Bank of China.
The project is being constructed by the China Habour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC) with a promise to get the project delivered on specifications.
Speaking at the flag-off event of the reconstruction, Engr Dave Umahi commended Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his relentless persuasion which eventually led to the approval of the construction of the Benue-Enugu road. He assured the Governor that every request made by him on the road construction would be executed.
In his speech, Gov Hyacinth Alia appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the road construction which he considered a major boost to his tenure as Benue State Government.
The Governor assured the Ministry of Works and the contractor handling the project, China Habour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC) of the State Government’s support and partnership to ensure the project is completed within the specified time.
Governor Alia who also appreciated God for granting the state a new leaf under his watch, thanked the people of Benue for their patience, with a call on them to continue to support his administration and that of President Ahmed Tinubu for the overall progress of the state and country. He also appealed to the communities where the project cut through to give optimal support to the construction company for a speedy completion of the project.
