Backbone behind Abuja Bandits, Kidnappers and Terrorists A special tactics unit of the Nigeria Police Force commissioned to fight the recent menace of kidnapping in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria, Abuja, and its neighboring states have recorded yet another feat in the declared war against kidnapping and other related criminalities that besieged the axis.
The FID-IRT team of Nigeria Police commissioned to clean off criminalities and the perpetrators off the corridor of the FCT, Abuja, and its gateway states, yesterday, Thursday, February 8th, 2024 descended in some of the brains behind the notorious kidnappers and gun runners who have been terrorizing Abuja, Kaduna, Kogi, and Nasarawa States in the recent time.
A statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed that the special police taskforce, IRT operatives, busted the criminals' hideout around Gitata, along Keffi Gidan Wire Road, Nasarawa State.
At the scene of the operation, some of the criminals were eliminated, and four (4) AK47 rifles, dangerous weapons, and a bag of ammunition were recovered, ACP Adejobi stated.
Recall that kidnapping for ransom, among other atrocities has taken the roof in Abuja in recent times while insecurity menaces including banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism have been prevalent in Kaduna, Kogi, and Nasarawa States making travelling to Abuja by road a life-threatening journey for the residents.
The Police further revealed that the neutralized criminals have been successfully established to be the major suppliers of guns to the bandits operating within Abuja, Kaduna, Kogi, and Nasarawa States.
ACP Adejobi further stated "This successful operation, conducted in the early hours of Thursday, demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the NPF to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
He, therefore, vowed the Police would continue to employ all necessary measures to rid our communities of criminal elements and maintain peace and order across the nation.
