The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has arrested a pastor, Simon Kado, and his accomplice, Jesse Simon Kado for allegedly trafficking underage children to Ogun State.
Pastor Simon was arrested after the Police intercepted a bus ferrying about 12 underage children to Ogun State.
The spokesman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said "The operatives of the command attached to the Rapid Response Squad 74 (RRS 74), on Friday, February 9th, 2024, intercepted one Muhammad Isah of Kafanchan, Kaduna, in a Toyota Hiace bus with Reg No APP 489 XE.
Isah was arrested with 12 underage children, four male and eight female being trafficked to Ogun State.
The kids, who are between the ages of 5 and 16 were said to have been sourced from Akwanga LGA of Nasarawa State, and we're being transported to Ogun State on the order of Pastor Simon.
FCT Police PRO, SP Josephine Adeh, further revealed that “While the investigation is still ongoing and effort in conduit with Nasarawa State Police Command on how to reunite victims with their respective families, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh psc, mni, wishes to reiterate that the safety of residents remains his utmost priority”.
