Hon (rt) Timothy Owoeye Immediate Former Osun State Speaker of the 7th House of Assembly, Hon. The former Speaker just left the State House of Assembly a few hours ago when the Governor of the State, Ademola Adeleke dissolved the seventh Assembly.
Hon. (Rt.) Timothy Owoeye became speaker of the 7th Osun State House of Assembly in 2019 after a tough contest. He has been an unrepentant, and one of the most steadfast members of the progressive parties in Osun State.
Immediately after the 7th Assembly winded down, Hon. Owoeye took to his Twitter handle to write "Abeg, which account(s) should I follow for regular job updates? I'm job hunting now."
Hon. Owoeye has been a member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Ilesa East State Constituency since 2007. He was the Minority leader of the House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011.
Between 2011 and 2015, he served as the Majority Leader of the House of Assembly, a position he also held between 2015 and 2019.
In 2019, Hon. Timothy Owoeye emerged as Speaker of the 7th Osun State House of Assembly and lost his reelection bid to the House of Assembly during the 2023 general elections. He is possibly the longest-serving member of the Osun State House of Assembly since the creation of the state in 1991 as he successfully spent 20 years, uninterruptedly, in the House of Assembly.
