PDP The opposition party in the country, People's Democratic Party (PDP) is set to reconcile the former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and his political godson who is also the incumbent Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara.
Although there were speculations that the former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike is on his way to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the main opposition party in the country, PDP, says it is ready to reconcile the two warring members of the party.

The hope of reconciling Wike and Fubara was contained in a conversation between the Nigerian Tribune and the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Debo Oloogunagba.
Oloogunagba, who boasted that the party would surely find a way of restoring peace between the two members of the party and their supporters, boldly ruled out an assumption that PDP may not be able to reconcile the two party leaders because of the sour relationship between the leadership of the party and Nyesom Wike since the party conducted its presidential primary election.
He thanked the people of Rivers State for always supporting the party as he said “Rivers people have supported us over the years. What is required is peace and tranquility so that they can begin to enjoy the benefits of the dividends of democracy.”

Recall that the political crisis rocking Rivers State has caused drastic realignments among the political stakeholders in the state.
27 lawmakers dump PDP for APC
As a consequence of the political crisis, some members of the Rivers State Executive Cabinet Council have resigned their appointments with about 27 of the 32 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly announcing their defections from the ruling party in the state, PDP, to the ruling party in the country, APC, all in the show of solidarity for the former Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike.
Likewise, Governor Fubara has formed a yet-to-be-concluded political collaboration with the Labour Party in the state as the Governor's Ijaw kinsmen take up the crisis beyond individuals.
