Ademola Adeleke In 2022, when the contest for the Osun State Governorship seat was opened Ademola Adeleke, then a Governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), ran a deceptive political campaign. He rubbished everything done by the administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and promised heaven on earth. His political campaign was more deceptive than the "Yes Daddy" of Peter Obi's Labour Party during the 2023 General Election.
Unfortunately, more than a year after Ademola Adeleke became the Executive Governor of Osun State, he is still busy with the usual deception. He has now moved from the political deception in the campaign mode to an administrative deception as a sitting Governor.
The administration of Ademola Adeleke as the Executive Governor of Osun State has deceived the people of the state with the ways he handles infrastructural projects and civil service matters.
For anyone who understands the economic prospects of Osun State, one would know that these two aspects form the foundation of sustaining the state's economy.
Rauf Aregbesola Decorates DCGs
Governor Adeleke, on inception, sacked the newly recruited civil servants employed by the immediate past Governor of the state and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola.
The civil servants sacked by Adeleke were recruited by Oyetola from across sectors, including Education (teachers) and health (medical staff). However, Governor Adeleke promised to revisit their recruitment and till today, he has only accumulated their supposed monthly salaries to set off part of the backlog of salary arrears owed to the state civil servants by his political ally during the 2022 governorship election in the state, Rauf.
Governor Adeleke deceptively robbed Peter of the sacked Civil Servants to pay Paul of the existing civil servants.
Besides, Governor Adeleke is the first Osun State Governor to have spent a year in Office with no tangible project to lay claim to.
Gboyega Oyetola
Going by the records that are available to the public, former Governor Oyetola successfully rehabilitated over 100 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in his 100 days in office. He built on this and could boast of rehabilitating about 300 PHCs across the 332 political wards in the state by the time he was voted out in 2022.
On the other hand, Governor Adeleke deceived about five million people in Osun State claiming he drilled one borehole per ward across the state in his 100 days in office even though there is no single borehole drilled throughout the state to ascertain this, as at the time of his 100 days in Office. Many people cited the shame the is could have brought to his administration necessitated his decision to travel out of Nigeria when he was supposed to be at home, telling the good people of Osun State what he has done in his 100 days in Office.
Deceptively, at some places during the celebration of Adeleke's 100 days in Office, they install tanks with no borehole. Many places didn't even have tanks, no boreholes but they installed water tap heads.
Unfortunately, the same state government administration that has failed to deliver its claim to drill a borehole, even though unnecessary, for the residents, has out of deception rolled out a collection of N100 billion Infrastructural Projects.
Going by Adeleke's overhyped N100 billion Infrastructural Projects, you will see deception in its entirety.
For instance, the dualization of Akoda Road in Adeleke's Ede home two which has been half completed since less than three months after his inauguration is still among the N100 billion Infrastructural Projects that Adeleke rolled out to deceive Osun people.
If not deception, how would a Governor include an ongoing project in its gazette, unfortunately, with no amendment to the existing project?
Not only this, take a keen look at the deceptive style of Adeleke's administration, he would flash the residents of the state with the initiation of "white elephant" projects only during the FESTIVE periods to attract public eulogy, mostly, from the Osun residents who are only visiting the state in occasion of the festival, a few weeks after the festive period, Adeleke administration abandons the projects and keeps watching for the upcoming festive period.
Take for instance, the completion of Osogbo Ring Road, with the bulk of the construction done by the previous administrations, what is left for Governor Ademola Adeleke to complete the construction of the road is less than 5 percent of the entire project.
Governor Adeleke deceptively moved contractors to the site during the Muslims Eld-l-Kabir festival, some weeks after the festival, work stopped and people were left to Oly the portion of the road completed by the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
While the Osogbo Ring Road is still begging for intervention, Governor Adeleke out of deception abandoned the ring road and mobilized contractors to start tearing major junctions in the state capital all in the name of building flyover bridges. He is doing this to deceive Osun people who have only traveled home on the occasion of Christmas and New Year celebrations. A few weeks from now, the contractors will still abandon the torn junctions, and the miracle of deception will choose a new scope during the forthcoming Eld-l-Kabir in 2024.
