Obaneze Ndigbo The Secretary General, Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Youth Wing, Maazi Chukwuma Okpalezeukwu has joined in the call on President Bola Tinubu to release the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka, Mazi Okpalezeukwu noted that he joins Governors Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, Peter Mba of Enugu state and others to call for the immediate release of the IPOB Leader for peace and security of the South East region, as well as Nigeria at large.
According to him, considering that Governor Soludo had earlier volunteered to stand surety for Maazi Kanu, Mazi Okpalezeukwu advised the Tinubu-led Federal Government to heed the call by notable men and women from Nigeria, especially from the Igbo Youth Leaders and Stakeholders- during their convention in Enugu to release the IPOB Leader and to further ensure equity for the overall interest of the country.
The Secretary General also congratulated Nigerians, Senators and Stakeholders alike, for the Choice of a Senate President of Southern extraction in the person of Senator Godswill Akpabio, and assured Nigerians that it is the reality of the proverbial round peg in a round hole.
He regretted the recent call of disunity made by a Niger Delta militant Leader, Asari Dokubo for Kanu not to be released as unfortunate and advised President Tinubu to prioritize peace and national healing; and not to listen to such misguided utterances.
