Siminalayi Fubara Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has again boasted that his seat as the Chief Executive Officer of the state is intact, and no one can remove him from the Governorship seat until his tenure expires in 2027.
Fubara stated this while speaking at the crossover church service at St Paul’s Archdeaconry Parish in Opobo Town on 2024 New Year’s Eve in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Recall that the political feud between Fubara and his erstwhile political godfather, Nyesom Wike, had led to a decision by the Rivers State House of Assembly to commence an impeachment process against the Governor. However, intervention by the President of the country, Bola Tinubu, safeguarded the political imbroglio in the state.

Fubara disclosed that those fighting him are in the bid to dampen the spirit of development in Rivers State, however promised no amount of intimidation can deter him.
At the cross-over speech, Governor Fubara indirectly accused his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, of demanding overall decision-making in the affairs of running the state, the bidding Fubara declared to have failed because the red biro is still with him.
He said, “What they want is this red biro but it is still with me. We are the winners because we are still signing with the red biro. As long as we are signing with the red biro, development will continue in Rivers State."
Speaking about the intervention by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resolve the Rivers political crisis, Governor Fubara said, “Like I keep saying, it takes a responsible man to be a father. He acted like a father. On our part, we will continue to give him all the necessary support because if he does not succeed in Rivers State, he will not succeed as a president.

“So, as a State, we will continue to give him every support. We are not pretenders. Our support is genuine and it is to uplift his programmes. Our sacrifices are part of the support.”
