Davido Nigerians have reacted differently to the poor performance of the country's artists at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Nominated Nigerian musicians for the 2024 Grammy Awards have all lost out at the award-winning event.
Davido lost all his four nominations, Burna Boy 3 as Asake and Ayra Starr also returned hike empty handed.
South African musician, Tyla, however, becomes the first winner of the "Best African Music Performance category beating all the nominated Nigerian musicians, including Asake, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Davido to attain the height.
South African music sensation, Tyla made history by winning the maiden edition of the Best African Music Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards for her hit single 'Water'.
Reacting to the development, Nigerians belittle the Grammy Awards and called on Nigerian musicians to respect the local HEADIES Awards.
Interestingly, many Nigerians recalled a recent statement by Jay Z, who stated "Many artists do not belong to this category [of excellent musicians at the Grammy Awards].
Betty Bezo, among others, sharing Jay Z's video clip said "Jay Z's speech when he said, some of you don't even belong in the category hits hard. A summation of everything we see at the Grammys.
"Well forget the Grammys & keep showing up!
Some Nigerians, however, believed failure to get Wizkid nominated cost Nigeria all the slots.
"Wiz got nominated for sure we would’ve got a winner tonight. Their Popsy for real," Hustla suggested.
Ayo reverted to Drake's statement belittling the Grammy Awards. He said, "Grammy is overrated just like Drake said. Period.
Selbien expressed disappointment in the development but kept the hope high saying "To be honest, It's disappointing that no Nigerian artist won at the Grammys, but awards don't define an artist's talent. The music industry is diverse, and recognition can come from various platforms.
A Ghanaian Ray-Ankrah took the Grammy Awards to the world of football suggesting the fate of the Grammy Awards represents what Nigerians should expect from the Semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
He said, "Same way the South Africans will beat you in the AFCON.
