Nigeria Police has encouraged her citizens to stay away from spreading unofficially released voting results. The Police announced the circulation of polling results that are yet to be released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Nigeria Police motivated the citizens to wait for INEC's official pronouncements on the election results.

Nigeria Police expressed its worries following an increased spreading of alleged or fake election results on social media and other news platforms by some social media handlers who are loyal to some presidential candidates.

Following the fear that the spreading of such fake results could bring restiveness to the country, the Nigeria Police Force urges Nigerians to remain calm, and go about their lawful engagements, while those who are billed to go to the polls today are requested to be orderly and law-abiding as we have re-enforced our security strategies for the smooth conclusion of the 2023 General Elections.
