A former member of the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has concluded that the West African Leaders under the umbrella of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are Confused and inconclusive in their resolution at the second special conference of the West African nations regarding the recent military coup that ousted the democratically elected President of Niger Republic, Muhammad Bazoum.

ECOWAS resolved to continue dialoguing with the military coup plotters in Niger Republic but also decided to get ready its stand-by force to restore constitutional order in Niger Republic.

Reacting to the resolution made by the ECOWAS, Senator Shehu Sani said their resolution is contradictory and it showed that the West African Leaders are yet to listen to recommendations from the people.

"ECOWAS communique is contradictory; Opting for dialogue and setting up a standby force. Our message to the leaders of West Africa is unambiguously clear; DO NOT drag us to war because of a coup in the Niger Republic," Shehu Sani stated.

Shehu Sani is part of the Nigerians who do not support military action on the restoration of constitutional order in the Niger Republic. However, West African Leaders resolved to set up its stand-by force after the Niger Republic's junta military junta had refused to dialogue with the representatives of ECOWAS and the African Union (AU).
