The President of Kenya, President William Ruto has described an incessant religious activity that has resulted in the death of many Christian worshipers in the country as "unacceptable".

President Ruto stated this while reacting to a religious activity at the Good News International Church where members were asked by pastor Paul Mackenzie Ntheng to 'fast to death to meet Jesus'.

A story about the activity that has been underway in the church for quite a long period was unveiled during the death of a Qatari returnee who came to bury his late son in Kenya but was later traced to have joined the church in fasting to death to meet Jesus, and her remain was recovered from the shallow grave where she was buried alongside others.

Paul Mackenzie Ntheng who is the owner and pastor of the Church has been arrested by the Police and put under investigation. Also, President Ruto has vowed to crack down on “unacceptable” religious movements, and a big search is underway near the coastal town of Malindi, where hundreds of bodies were excavated over the weekend.

"It is a very terrible state of affairs that these people died and were buried in shallow graves,’ he said, referring to the fact that they had discovered six remains crammed into a single grave that very day," Kenya Police Authority said.

As of the time of filing this report, death has tolled to 72 as government officials are proceeding with the recovery of the dead bodies who were buried in styles.
