President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Today, the 9th Assembly that is winding down has approved a list of 20 Special Advisers to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Many people have been looking for the names of the 20 Special Adbisers that have been approved for President Bola Tinubu. In fact, some citizens are arguing if it is not prerogative for the President to appoint the Special Advisers. This means many people are confused if it is necessary for the presidency to inform the National Assembly or seek its approval before it could appoint Special Advisers.
The fact is that, the president needs to seek the approval of the National Assembly for the appointment of Ministers and Special Advisers that will serve his cabinet, though the two approval processes come with little differences.
When sending names of ministerial nominees to the National Assembly, it is mandatory that names of the nominees are attached and the nominees will be screened by the bicameral legislatives. Although, it is not compulsory to add the portfolio that each of the ministerial nominees will occupy.
However, for the Special Advisers, the president does not need to compulsorily add the names or portfolio of the nominees. The President is just required to write a letter to the National Assembly seeking the permission to appoint a certain number of Special Advisers.
For this cause, President Bola Tinubu has only seek permission from the National Assembly to allow him appoint 20 Special Advisers, and this has been approved by the House.
A contact with our source within the presidential has revealed to us that names of the 20 Special Advisers will soon be to make the list available to the public soon.
Stay tune to this page, once the names are released, this page will be updated to reflect the names.
