Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima Nigerians of different religious denominations were found wrathful discharging their dissatisfaction towards the amendment of the public holidays, recently declared by the government.
Federal Government of Nigeria, which had earlier declared Tuesday and Wednesday, 9th and 10th, April 2024 public Holidays for the eld-l-fitr celebration, today, in a public announcement added Thursday, April 11th to the Public Holidays making it three working free days for the Sallah celebration.
As contained in a statement signed by Dr. Aisheru Gogo, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, "The Federal Government has approved Thursday 11th April 2024 as an additional public holiday to celebrate this year's Eid-El-Fitr.

The new development has invited discord from some fellow Nigerians who felt disturbed by the three-day sallah holidays.
While some people holistically criticized all forms of religious-related holidays in Nigeria, many people blamed the three-day Sallah public holidays as an effect of the Muslim-Muslim presidency, a political mantra sang during the 2023 presidential election to attempt to stop the presidential ambition of the present President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Reacting to the development, Ikechukwu stated that "In a sane clime there should be nothing as Easter Monday, Boxing Day, a two-day holiday for Eid, and whoever proposed the idea of moving weekend holidays that fall on weekends to weekdays didn't think it through, Nigeria is wasting productivity's.
Also, Austin Adam stated "And we already know 98% of offices will be locked on Friday too. An entire week of holiday. Na Correct n special Eid be this one
Charles described the holidays as being a "Simply cr@#zy", for a religious holiday within a working week in a secular society like ours!
Gabby took the moment back to the callous atmosphere that the country survived during the 2023 presidential election, describing the three-day public holidays as "The effect of Muslim-Muslim tickets."
