Motorcycle Bandits Shutdown Zamfara Village, Take away 100 Villagers

Zamfara Bandits kidnapper
A team of bandits operating on motorcycles stormed some villages in Zamfara State, forcefully, taking away about 100 residents of the villages.

It was learned that the bandits had taken over control of some parts of the Northern region of Nigeria since 2010. The Federal Government of Nigeria, president after president, since 2010 has promised to eradicate the insecurity menace facing the region.

According to Reuters, the residents were kidnapped after they refused to pay the periodic tax imposed on the residents of the villages by the bandits.

According to the residents of the attacked villages, a group of armed bandits named “Damana” has been in control of the villages for some years, and Nigeria Security Agencies including the Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Army have been helpless in restoring normalcy to the region.

A resident of one of the affected villages recalled “The terrorists often used the villagers as laborers on farmlands with no payment, and when they come to the town they eat meat, tea, and bottled substances without payment”.
