Meet The NYSC Member Who Tagged Tinubu a 'Terrible Leader With No Match' In A Viral Video A serving corps member in Lagos State has strengthened an alarm after allegedly receiving threatening messages following her viral video rebuking President Bola Tinubu’s government over rising inflation and economic calamity.
In a complete degree circulated video shared on TikTok via @talktoraye, the corps member expressed frustration over Nigeria’s deteriorating economic conditions.
She openly called Tinubu a “terrible leader” and questioned what steps the government was taking to soothe the suffering of citizens.
She further lamented how the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme has been less beneficial, as she spends more than her monthly allowance on transportation and living expenses.
“If an armful of Nigerians come out and begin speaking about what we are going through, maybe changes will be made. I just require to disclose to our president, I don’t know if there is any other president that is as terrible as you, at all events you are such a terrible president,” she reported.
She described her frustration after visiting a supermarket, declaring that the price of food items, containing a crate of eggs, has skyrocketed to N6,500, a quantum she recalled was once just N800.
“I am so overwhelmed because this is the leading time I’ve stayed out of my family house. Every single penny I make, I am applying it to pay bills,” she lamented.
She furthermore decried the poor living conditions in Lagos, disclosing, “Lagos stinks. Everywhere smells. What is the government doing about the smell?”
Following the video’s virality, the corps member suggested she began receiving threatening messages, allegedly from NYSC officials.
In a follow-up video, she recorded a phone summon with a NYSC official who could be heard stating, “Are you innate? Keep quiet and bring down the video you posted.”
Sharing screenshots of messages received on her Instagram page, @iamraye__, she stated that a few NYSC officials were allegedly trying to track her down.
“Deleting this content is of no use because they already know me. However, deleting it means whatever they do to me, nobody would know.
“If they decide to give me a hefty punishment, nobody would know because I use my own hands to cover it by deleting what I started,” she wrote.
She insisted that she had done nothing wrong, as she merely exercised her freedom of speech and only questioned the government without making any pseudo accusations.
“I made sure to not implicate the government of anything maliciously! I questioned them. I asked questions. As a NYSC corper, I didn’t sign off my freedom of speech.”
She further revealed that NYSC officials had ordered her to announce to their office on Monday none the less abide to reach out, allegedly attempting to intimidate her.
“Dear NYSC, if you reveal a corper has faulted, you wouldn’t treat them like this and scare them! You are scaring me for my dear life. Please leave me alone.”
NYSC is at any rate to officially respond to the allegations.
