A man residing in Georgia reportedly shot and injured himself on Monday after Corps approached and questioned him about the whereabouts of four inmates who dubiously escaped from a Georgia prison, recently.

Four inmates, including a man who was accused of murder, were said to have escaped from Georgia prison, Bibb County Detention Center United States of America in the early hour of Monday. They were said to have escaped through a damaged window and a cut fence. They escaped from the prison at about 3 a.m. in a blue Dodge Challenger which drove off to the location where the man was being questioned.

The escapees were said to be Marc Kerry Anderson, 24, who was accused of aggravated assault; Johnifer Dernard Barnwell, 37, who was being detained by U.S marshals; Chavis Demaryo Stokes, 29, who was accused of drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms and Joey Fournier, 52, who was jailed for murder.

Although the man in question was said not to be a prisoner, the Cops believe he has relevant information that could lead to the arrest of the escapees from the Georgia prison.

According to a Bibb Country Sheriff, David Davis, the man in question was not among the escapees but he has lint with one or two of the wanted prisoners and he is believed to be holding vital information that may assist the Sheriff in catching the running inmates.

Video footage had shown that the blue Dodge in which they escaped had been parked at the front of the prison since midnight and someone was seen applying an item on the wall of the prison’s fence. The sheriff later discovered a blue Dodge abandoned at the parking lot of Macon supermarket which they believed was the car used in the escape.

Sheriff Davis stated that when the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force went to a Macon apartment, the officers knocked on the door but heard a shot through the door from inside. When a SWAT team arrived, they found the man in question wounded. The Sheriffs believe he had shot himself.

A combined $73,000 bounty has been placed aside for anyone with relevant information on the whereabouts of the running inmates, David Davis stated.
Presently, the Bibb County Sheriff, the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the FBI, and the U.S. Marshals Service are looking for the escapees.

This is not the first prison break in recent times in the United States of America, in September 2023 a prisoner, Danelo Cavalcante stole the front pages of many media platforms across the world after he escaped from a Pennsylvania prison and spent nearly two weeks in the lam before he was returned to the prison.
