Man Drown While Worshipping the god of River Osun

An elderly man has reportedly died while worshipping the god of Osun River in Oyo State, Nigeria.

The incident which occurred at Bayeruka Adeoti area of Ibadan in Oyo State left many of the Osun deity Worshippers in bad faith.

The elderly man was said to have slipped into the River while chanting praises of the god of River Osun. All efforts to rescue him were rebuffed.

An eyewitness who was simply identified as Mr. Yisau and a resident of the Bayeruka area stated that the elderly man fell into the River while eulogizing the Osun deity and all efforts to rescue him were rebuffed. He stated that the hazardous incident happened on Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Mr. Yisau, speaking further on the incident, stated "Not less than 100 worshipers of Osun deity were present at the scene and they were all crying, expressing their sad mood over the incident.

The source further stated that the corpse of the late Osun worshiper floated on the river body on Friday, December 29, 2023, 24 hours after he drowned.
