One of the House of Representatives members elected under the platform of the Labour Party from Abia State, Godwin Amobi Ogar, has disclosed his affection for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu after meeting with the President for the first time.
Amobi Ogar was among the elected members of the National Assembly who met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja yesterday.
President Bola Tinubu had called for a meeting with the members elected in the Senate and House of Representatives yesterday where he discussed issues that affect the nation with them, ahead of their inauguration.
The meeting had in attendance Senators-elected and members-elected in the House of Representatives from All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and the New Nigeria Progressives Party (NNPP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and all other opposition parties with members-elected in the bicameral legislative assemblies.
While addressing newsmen after the meeting with President Bola Tinubu, Labour Party House of Representatives member-elect from Abia State, Amobi Ogar confessed his believe in President Bola Tinubu before the meeting and was convinced why President Tinubu deserves to be Nigerian President.
He expressed the day he met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 'best day' in his life.
Speaking to the newsmen, Amobi Ogar stated that “Well, I can tell you that today is my best day, today I’m so happy that I’m an elected member seeing my President talking. In fact, I never knew that this man is so intelligent. I never knew that this man is so prepared to serve this country.
“I saw the love, I saw the character, I saw the charisma, the belief that Nigeria can be a better nation. So I’m so glad that the meeting we have today is going to take us a little bit to a more stabilized house. Now, even without talking to us again, we’ve agreed that we are going towards the government's decision. Not minding, I’m of Labour Party.
“As of now, the party is not the issue; we’re talking about building the Nation, we’re talking about the unity of the nation.”
