PDP, photo credit: Twitter A source has disclosed attempt by the ruling party in Osun State, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to unjustly seek for the pleasure of the Court of Appeal, Akure ahead of the delivery of judgment on the Osun Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
It could be recalled that the Election Petition Tribunal which sat in Osogbo, the state capital ruled that former Governor of the State, Adegboyega Oyetola was the duly elected Governor of the state in the July 16th 2022 Governorship election in the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have appealed the judgment.
While the Court of Appeal is being expected to communicate to the parties in the litigation on the court proceeding, some members of the PDP were said to have held a meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, few days after Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the new President-elect.
Resolution from their meeting in Ibadan was to find every means to pocket the Appeal Court committee members. They cited the election of Bola Tinubu as an opportunity for because they believe he will be too busy that he mag not have time to overpower their attempt to pocket the court.
Gboyega Oyetola had petitioned the Tribunal that Ademola Adeleke did not score the majority votes in the July 16 election and that Ademola Adeleke is not qualify to contest the Governorship election because he forged the certificate he presented to INEC in 2018.
