Kwara State Ministry of Environment Kwara State Government under the administration of Abdulrazak Abdulrahmon has announced Saturday June 24th as a sanitation day for people residing across the state to clean up their environment.
This is contained in a statement released by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Yakub Kamaldeen Aliagan.
As the residents of the State were encouraged to seize the opportunity to tidy up their environment while defaulters are promised to be punished according to the extant law of the state.
Press Statement released by Aliagan redlase, "This is to inform members of the public that sanitation exercise for this month will hold on Saturday, 24th June, 2023 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.
"Residents of the State are hereby enjoined to fully participate in the sanitation exercise, by cleaning both their residential and business environments.
"Members of the public are to note as usual that there will be no vehicular and human movement across the state within the scheduled two hours duration of the exercise.
"Security and Monitoring agents will be on ground to monitor compliance and it will be observed across the State.
"Waste Management trucks will also be on ground for waste collection and subsequent disposal to the dump site in the metropolis.
"Members of the public are duly warned that it is an offence to dump refuse on the pedestrian walkways, road dividers, drainages, canals and all other unapproved dump sites.
