Umar Ganduje Baba Alkali and others The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, applauded His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his effort in maintaining peace and stability in the state.
The IGP made the commendation today through new commissioner of police Muhammad Hussaini Gumel who posted to Kano in his official visit to the governor during the state executive council meeting.
Muhammad Hussaini Gumel, said, “The IGP and the Police hierarchy are very much aware of the commitment of your administration to peace, security, and stability in Kano.
“They appreciate the level of confidence and trust your administration has had on the police command, for which great successes were recorded by my predecessors. Despite the security challenges surrounding Kano State, the internal contradictions within the society, and the political push and shoves of a democratic society, you have successfully steered the affairs of the state to stability and progress. The evidence is there for everyone to see.”
In his remarks, Governor Ganduje said, “Kano State will continue to protect lives and property. We applied so many strategies in order to ensure peace and stability.
First of all we believe in community policing where there is an interaction between traditional institutions, ulama and all other stakeholders. We made sure that they are familiar with security situation at the local level.”
The governor added that the state brought in other stakeholders that were necessary for the purpose.
Ganduje added, “We also introduced technology into our security architecture. We know technology is the answer. We will never get it without technology. We have the best tracker in the country. We have the best infrastructure in the country.”
However, the governor appreciated the cooperation of the police and all other security agencies in ensuring peace and stability in the state.
Also Governor Ganduje commended CP Muhammad Hussaini Gumel for some timely operations the command carried which led to the arrest of some criminals as soon as the CP assumed duty.
