Unfortunately, there has been unnecessary disagreement among Nigerians, mostly the Igbo people of the Southeastern part of Nigeria and some people from Port Harcourt, Rivera State about the paternity of the Nigerian shot-stopper, Stanley Nwabali.
Nwabali who has displayed a fantastic performance, so far, in the Nigerian matches at the Cote D'Ivoire 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, has been the choice of many citizens since he gave a brilliant display at the semi-final match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Bafana-Bafana of South Africa.
Some easterners have claimed paternity to Nwabali while south-southers remain adamant about privatizing the paternity of the goalkeeper.
Arguably, the wrong perception about Nwabali might not be unconnected from the controversial supremacy on the boundary of Igbo people when it comes to discussing their relationship with the South-South people.
To clarify the paternity of Nwabali, a Port Harcourt source disclosed that the Nigerian goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, was brought up by GO-ROUND FC Omoku in Rivers State owned by Former PDP Chairman in Rivers State, Chief Felix Obuah.
The source also claimed that "Nwabali hails from Egbema in Ogba/ Egbema/ Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Reacting to the clarification on Nwabali, an online commentator, Samrex Worula, said "IGBO people go rest now.
