Ibrahimovic insists 'I'm the boss' at AC Milan as he opens up on executive role at Serie A giants
Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is “the boss” at AC Milan after opening up on his role as an executive at AC Milan, insisting “all the others work for me”.
Ibrahimovic, who enjoyed two separate spells at Milan as a player, was announced as the club’s senior adviser in December last year.
The Swedish former striker announced his retirement from football at the end of the 2022-23 season after stints with Milan, Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Barcelona and LA Galaxy.
“I am the boss and I am in charge, all the others work for me,” the 42-year-old replied when asked by Sky Sports Italia about his role, via ESPN.
He was then pressed about criticism he has recieved of his performance in the role by former Rossoneri director Zvonimir Boban, who said “no one understands what you do”.
The outspoken 42-year-old responded: “When the lion goes away, the kittens arrive. When the lion comes back, the kittens disappear.
“The level is very low, there is too much talk but I only think about working. I was away for personal reasons, but I have been here since day one.”
He then spoke glowingly about Milan’s transfer window, which saw them bring in Tammy Abraham, Alvaro Morata, Youssouf Fofana, Strahinja Pavlovic and Emerson Royal.
“It went exactly as we wanted, everything we looked for and was missing we got,” he added. “The last one was Abraham, to provide an extra reinforcement in attack.”
