Buhari, Emefiele, and Sadiya A yet-to-be-verified information is flying online with the arrested former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele being quoted to have claimed the former President of the nation, Muhammadu Buhari ordered him Monthly to release a total sum of N500 billion to Sadiya Umar Farouq who was the immediate past Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
The information which is trending on social media platforms quoted Emefiele to have said that "I have been releasing N500Billion every month to the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Madam Sa'adiyya, on the instructions of PMB for her to fight Poverty".
It could be recalled that Godwin Emefiele has been arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS). He is facing many allegations including financial misappropriation, willful use of public office to settle political ambition, and sponsorship of terrorism among others.
He was said to have confessed to the DSS, under interrogation that former President Muhammadu Buhari always give him orders to release N500 billion to Sadiya Umar Farouk, monthly for her to fight poverty in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This amounts to about N6 trillion naira going to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in a year, and about 24 trillion naira in four years of the second term administration of ex-president Buhari.
The DSS has not confirmed the authenticity of this quite but if it does, the administration of ex-president Muhammadu Buhari may go deeper down to becoming "the most corrupt" administration in the history of Nigeria.
