I can play any position to ensure Man United Wins, Amrabat Speaks

The Morocco international reverted to a more familiar position in the engine room when Victor Lindelof was introduced for the second half but proved his versatility and impressed the crowd with his efforts.

“I told the manager I will play where [he] needs me and where the team needs me, even if it is a goalkeeper!” Amrabat told the Sky Sports at full-time.

“I play where I can help the team, today it was left-back.

“I had a bit of a free role, I think you saw I played a bit in midfield, so it was nice, it was good.”

Sofyan described Manchester United's victory as an ideal start to life under the Old Trafford lights.

“I think it was a perfect night,” he said.

“We played very well and, most importantly, we won 3-0. I played one hour, so I think it was perfect.”
“Since I was a child I worked for this [moment],” he added.

“I worked very hard for my whole career and life [for this], so it was amazing to play here.

“Today is a Tuesday and the stadium was full, it is fantastic.”

Erik ten Hag’s side kicked on from last weekend’s 1-0 win over Burnley, to give fans something more to cheer about tonight.

“Against Burnley, we got a very important win and we showed big character,” Sofyan continued.

“Today, we wanted to give the fans something to enjoy and I hope we can continue like this.

“It is clear that United is a huge club and we need to win. The pressure is high but we won this - and the manager says, every day, you need to win and that is what we want.

“We push very hard every day and hopefully we can win a lot and we can give the fans a lot more.”

The best is still to come from Amrabat, as he admitted to MUTV that he is still not fully fit after being forced to withdraw from international duty soon after signing for the Reds ahead of the summer deadline.

"I am fit but not 100 per cent yet," he conceded. "But I think that is normal.

"I have not had a perfect pre-season, because of the transfer and everything, but I'm working very hard now to get there and I think the game today was a good game for me. A next step and I hope to continue like this and I will do everything to be, as soon as possible, 100 per cent."
