There is an emerging crisis between the Osun State capital city, Osogbo, and one of its neighbouring towns, Ede regarding a renewed land boundary disagreement.
A portion of land extending for the axis of Osogbo where the state secretariat is located has been a cause of dispute between the indigenous people of Osogbo and the people of Ede, the nearest town to the East of the state capital.
However, there is an emerging story, according to an eyewitness video confession which is, currently, trending online regarding how the people of Osogbo were deceived to cast their votes for Ademola Adeleke, an indigene of Ede and the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the July 2022 governorship election in the state.
In the trending video confession, the speaker recalled how the people of Osogbo were deceived before the July 2022 Governorship election in Osun by one Alhaji Muniru Adebayo, a campaigner for the incumbent Governor of the State, Ademola Adeleke, who hails from Ede.
Unfortunately, it was learned in the trending video that Alhaji Muniru, an indigene of Osogbo had connived with the Adeleke family of Ede to tender three promises with the people of Osogbo to seek their votes before the July 2022 guber poll in the state.
The trending video revealed that Adeleke and Alhaji Muniru made three promises to the people of Osogbo which they have failed to fulfil. This includes a promise to pick Secretary to the State Government from Osogbo, conceive the disputed land portion to Osogbo and ensure every signpost in Abere bears Osogbo, latest by a month after his inauguration; recall that Abere is the host to the State Government Secretariat.
The confession video stated that it was surprising that the State Governor Ademola Adeleke, instead of fulfilling his promise, a month after getting to office with their bulk votes from Osogbo had aligned with his people in Ede to hijack land that belongs to Osogbo.
