Ahamadu Umar Fintiri Adamawa State Governor Ahamadu Fintiri had disowned a Twitter account cloning his name @AhamduFintiri. The operator of the parody Twitter account had, yesterday, Monday, January 29th, 2024 claimed that the spokesperson of Atiku Abubakar's presidential campaign council, Daniel Bwala, who has now [unofficially but publicly] pitched tent with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, could be a mole sent by Atiku to spy on the administration of President Tinubu.
Recall that Daniel Bwala, who dumped All Progressives Congress (APC) during the electioneering campaigns claiming APC's Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket was a religious plot to wipeout Christianity from Nigeria, has for the past few months turned in to support the administration of President Tinubu of the APC, claiming President Tinubu has been distinct and bold in making decisions, so far he was elected as President.
Apart from visiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja, a few weeks ago, Daniel Bwala was also sighted with President Tinubu yesterday in Paris, France.
Giving insight into the latest meeting with President Tinubu in Paris, Bwala took to his Twitter account to write, "It was a pleasure to meet with the father of the nation @officialABAT President Bola Tinubu in Paris today. He continues to share his thoughts and demonstrate his passion to lead Nigeria out of the woods."
The tweet generated tons of replies from Nigerians including a parody account mimicking the names of Adamawa State Governor Ahamadu Fintiri who wrote "What if Bwala was sent as an agent to spy on Atiku and expose his strategies to the @officialABAT camp in other to defeat him during the last election?
"Someday soon, we’ll talk about how weak and brainless of a politician @atiku is.
The sensitivity of the claim in the tweet had disrupted the feeling of Adamawa State Governor Fintiri, who through a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, denounced the Twitter account.
Governor Fintiri said, "My attention has been drawn to a fake Twitter handle @AhamduFintiri created by unscrupulous persons to misinform unsuspecting members of the public.”
"This action is irresponsible and a calculated attempt to disseminate inaccurate and tainted information to unsuspecting members of the public.
“Please discontinue the fake Twitter account and use my official handle for genuine and accurate information on my activities.”
This is not the first time Governor Fintiri would be linked to a statement that sounds anti-Atiku when the ministerial appointment of the former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and was successfully inaugurated, Governor Fintiri was among the first set of leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who congratulated Wike with sweet words which showed he preferred Wike's political ideology to that of Atiku Abubakar.
In the aftermath of the scenario, The Round Table did a writeup showing Governor Fintiri wasn't the choice of Atiku Abubakar in 2019, but Nyesom Wike was instrumental to his emergence as Governor in Atiku Abubakar's Adamawa home state.
