Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has declared free registration of students in the Senior Secondary School III operating within the state.

Governor Alia stated this in a press release, and the program is intended to cover all students in the public secondary schools located in the state. Also, private secondary schools operating within the state have been put into consideration with the government also covering the full payment of all the students in Senior School III.

However, the administration of Governor Alia has stated that only private secondary schools that are registered and fully approved by the state government will have their students covered in the program.

The state government has not, however, decided whether there will be qualification tests for the students.

In a piece of related news, Governor Alia has also decided to provide One Hundred Hummer Buses to Benue Links as part of measures to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
