National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria, Abdullahi Ganduje has reiterated efforts that his party is putting in place to take over Rivers 5 from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 2027. Ganduje stated this while speaking at the inauguration of the APC Rivers State Caretaker Committee at the party's headquarters in Abuja, today.
Recall that since 1999, Rivers State has been under the control of the PDP, and the 2023 presidential election was the only presidential election that was won in the state by another party aside PDP.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Rivers State APC Caretaker Committee, Ganduje, applauded the members of APC in the state over the performance of the party during the last presidential election in Rivers State. He, however, challenged the new leaders of APC in Rivers State to keep themselves affirm and ensure the party wins the next Governorship Election in the state to unseat Governor Siminalayi Fubara of the PDP in 2027.
Ganduje said “We have decided to reform the party. This won’t be possible without the leadership in the states.
“We want you to make history for our party so that during the next election, we will have Rivers State for APC. You contributed to electing the government of today (President). I can beat my chest; we are proud of you
