The immediate past Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje and a member of the 9th Assembly from Osun State, Senator Ajibola Bashir have been suggested to replace the Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Iyiola Omisore who both recently resigned respectively as National Chairman and National Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that Senator Adamu was said to have been told to resign his position after he had failed to account for about N32 billion party fund which was said to have been allegedly misappropriated by him. Likewise, Senator Christopher Omisore tendered his resignation letter after a meeting of the National Executive Councilor of the meeting where an Acting Chairman of the party was announced.
Rising from a meeting held by the elected Governors under the platform of APC, yesterday, at the Abuja residence of Governor Hope Uzodinma who happened to be the National Chairman of APC Governors Forum and Imo State Governor, the governors agreed to appoint Abdullahi Ganduje as the Acting National Chairman of the party while Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Bashir was tipped to replace Senator Iyiola Omisore as the National Secretary of the party.
Their announcement is pending tye approval of their suggestion by the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
If their suggestion is approved, Senator Abdullahi Ganduje and Senator Surajudeen Ajibola will serve as the National Chairman and National Secretary of the ruling party, APC, until the party hold her National Convention.
