Lucky Aiyedatiwa The tenure of Lucky Aiyedatiwa may be one highly tense with crises as the state currently risks another political tough time after a success by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in resolving the political crisis in the state.
Recall that parts of the conditions given to Aiyedatiwa, before he was sworn in as an Acting Governor of Ondo State, was not to reshuffle the state Executive cabinet members until the Executive Governor of the state.
However, the development from Ondo State may make the peace deal the stakeholders of the ruling party in Ondo State, All Progressives Congress (APC), struck with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a short-term deal.
A lawyer and member of the party, Sola Ajisafe, stated in a radio interview that Acting Governor Aiyedatiwa has prepared a memo to reshuffle the Executive cabinet of the state with the intent to sideline the loyalists of ailing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. He lamented that such an attempt, if implemented will surely jettison the effort of President Bola Tinubu to restore peace to the state.
It was alleged that Acting Governor Aiyedatiwa is planning to sack Oladuni Odu as the Secretary to the State Government with the intent to redeploy him to the Ministry of Commerce as a Commissioner.
There is speculation, also, that the Acting Governor has finalized a plan to redeploy Commissioner for Finance, Wale Akinterinwa, who would be moved to Culture and Tourism.
In the radio interview which was monitored by the Round Table, Ajisafe said, “These are the people who are not seen when they are needed but always come when their services are needed.
“When Owo was attacked, they were not seen. During the COVID-19, they were nowhere to be found. When herdsmen were on the prowl, they kept quiet. During the #EndSARS protests, they did not protest. They only came when they had an agenda to push.
“When they returned from Abuja and Aiyedatiwa was made the acting governor, these people said Akeredolu was incapacitated and that he should relinquish the seat.
“Section 189 of the Constitution talked about permanent incapacitation, not as freely being used by these people. These are the people who are pushing an agenda capable of rocking the boat of progress in Ondo State.”
