The Federal Government of Nigeria has promised the serving members of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) of improved welfare throughout the nation. The promise was made by the Honourable Minister of State for Youth, Hon. Olawande Ayodele, when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Kwara State NYSC Orientation Camp situated at the Yikpata area of the state on Tuesday 28th, November, 2023.
Hon. Olawande, who expressed disappointment at the deplorable state of the Kwara State Orientation Camp, promised that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will work with all relevant stakeholders across the 36 states of the federation to reconstruct all the orientation camps across the nation.
Hon. Olawande tendered an unreserved apology to all the corps members found on the Kwara State NYSC Orientation Camp for the deplorable state of the facilities which he described as “unacceptable” and must be looked into by all relevant stakeholders.
While encouraging the serving corps members to endure, and await positive change, Hon. Olawande said “If I can be a Minister, you all can become whatever you wish to be, and the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue to encourage young people, and putting youth in charge of youth affairs is just one of such encouragements.”
Promising the NYSC corps members that the administration of President Tinubu will not fail them in providing job opportunities as they finish their service year, Hon Olawande stated “Where do you go from here? How do you live decent lives as a graduate? These are some of the questions the Tinubu administration will answer for the youth. We’ll not fail you.”
Hon. Olawande who was led by Kwara State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa inspected the hostels, clinic, kitchen, and the mami market located on the on the Orientation camp.
