Threads Threads is a new social media app being developed by the Facebook Meta Team. It mimics the features found on other social media platforms, but exclusively it shared a common feature with Twitter, the bluebird microblogging platform.
Threads operates like other social media platforms that we have been used to, only that it is coming second to challenge the only feature that is being enjoyed by Twitter.
Threads share some features with Facebook though with limitations.
Unlike on Facebook where you can attach as many as possible media files like pictures, audio, and videos to your post, a Thread does not take more than a maximum of 10 media files. However, you can complement this limitation by adding your remaining media file to the next threads which will be read in a flow.
Besides, unlike Facebook which takes a maximum of 5,000 characters, and Twitter which takes a maximum of 160 characters, a Thread can contain up to 380 characters.
The most interesting feature possessed by Threads which is absent on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Twitter now is that when you copy-paste content with a length of more than 380, Threads will automatically split the copied texts into separate Threads in a serial flow, such that you would not need to be doing "paste, cut, and paste" operations.
As it is for now, you cannot chat with others, but you can join discussions on threads created by others, except the creator had set up to disallow public discussion.
Threads is more or less a discussion forum website than a social media platform because every post on the platform can be shared to other social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube, and tenths of other social media platforms.
Threads is a great tool for microblogging, business promotion, sharing of knowledge, and all sorts of activities that are carried out on all other social media platforms.
